Despite what the advertisements say, you don't need $200 worth of software to format a script. Here are a few freebies (no support offered). The MSWord style template offered free on this page gives approximately one page = one minute play time. There is no acceptable international standard for playscript layout. Everyone has an opinion. The format presented here is acceptable in the USA and may be acceptable in other English speaking countries.

For giving the actor some guidelines on pronouncing your weird words you could use the International Phonetics Association (IPA) font set avaliable free at http://www.sil.org. Try also: http://babel.uoregon.edu/yamada/fonts/phonetic.html

Keep track of your submissions with Writer's Database. This is someone else's work so don't e-mail me about it. I have not used it but it looks good.
Just in case, keep an index card file of all submissions.
